Saturday afternoon at Canvas Stadium, Colorado State will honor 10 seniors before their final home game in green and gold. Only one of them has spent his entire college career at CSU.In the changing landscape of college football, where players transfer in and out of programs, defensive lineman Mohamed Kamara has held his ground in Fort Collins. He stayed at CSU for his final season mainly because he wanted to graduate. But on the football field, he has been on a year-long pursuit of records.CSU head coach Jay Norvell only got to coach Kamara for two seasons, but he remembers having to game-plan against him as the coach at Nevada.“One thing about Mo Kamara is he’s just a relentless player and that’s what makes him such a good pass rusher,” Norvell said. “I think they could call the O-line for holding a half dozen times every game. They have to hold him to stop him from getting to the quarterback.“That’s what I saw on film. And then when I got here and met him, I could relate to him. I...

Five groups providing public defender services in New York City are cracking down on speech about Palestine. Leadership at the groups are pushing back on statements or internal communications that reference the siege on Gaza, and at least one staffer has been forced to resign. Two of the organizations sent cease-and-desist letters to union shops considering resolutions calling for a ceasefire. Another group called staffers into meetings with human resources for using work channels to share links about Palestine and proposing to do fundraising for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund in lieu of an annual holiday party.Management at several of the offices said statements on Gaza under consideration by their unions were jeopardizing funding. Pro-Israel activists launched a petition to defund the Bronx Defenders after its union issued a statement opposing Israel’s “genocidal intent in Gaza.” Public defender offices across the country are already severely underfunded. HAMMOND, La. (AP) — LSU All-America forward Angel Reese was not with the Tigers when they tipped off against Southeastern Louisiana on Friday night.LSU did not immediately provide a reason for Reese’s absence, but coach Kim Mulkey was expected to address it after the game. The surprise scratching of Reese from the lineup comes after she was benched for the second half of LSU’s 109-79 victory over Kent State on Tuesday. Mulkey characterized that as a “coach’s decision” and did not elaborate.Reese had started LSU’s first four games, during which the Tigers went 3-1, and averaged 17 points and 10.3 rebounds during those games.Reese, nicknamed the “Bayou Barbie” and known for her eyelash extensions and pink finger nails, led LSU to its first national title in women’s basketball last season. She also has parlayed her popularity into name, image, and likeness endorsements valued at more than $1 million, making her one of the top-earning female college athletes.Reese led the Southeast...
